Yurkos win the SMSA Fall Invitational, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship, and the MDG Cup

SMSA Small Boat Invitational / MGD Regatta recap... with Hurricane Ian winding down, SMSA saw puffs in the low 20's on both Saturday and Sunday but with flat "enough" water and no convective activity. These resulted in champagne conditions for the Yurkos who took the SMSA Fall Invitational, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship, and the MDG Cup as winners of the Buccaneer fleet.

Despite plenty of distractions from the Crab Feast and Vikings football in London, they managed to pull off 3 wins out of 5 races, distancing themselves from 2nd place Artful Dodger and 3rd place American Spirit.

With the regatta in the rear view, the Mid Atlantic fleet is gearing up for Hospice Regatta at Western Carolina Sailing Club this weekend, Oct. 8-9. Stand by for more as the racing season isn't done yet for 2022!
